CONDITION REPORTS
A condition report is a vital document used in the art world to catalog the condition of an artwork at a specific point in time. It serves as a detailed record of any visible damage, deterioration, or changes to the artwork.
The contents of a condition report typically include a detailed description of the artwork, including its dimensions, materials, and any pertantent details to the handling, transportation, and insuring of the artwork. Furthermore, the report meticulously records the condition of the artwork's surface, frames or pedestals, and any existing damage, accompanied by high-quality photographs for visual documentation.
A comprehensive condition report can be instrumental in facilitating transparency and trust between art institutions, collectors, and insurers. By accurately detailing the condition of an artwork, all involved parties can make informed decisions regarding its care, display, and insurance coverage.
A digital condition report is available to be requested from anywhere around the world.
